Vejer
is on the Costa De la Luz in Southern Spain
just 50 kms north of Gibraltar and 45 kms
south of Cadiz and Jerez. If you enjoy golf
you will be interested to learn that one
of the finest golf courses in Europe has
recently opened just 3 kms south of the town.
Other
local activities include climbing, abseiling,
archery, orienteering, mountain-biking and
a 4 X 4 training course. There are some excellent
beaches at El Palma which is only 1.5 km
from Vejer and The Costa de la Luz is world-famous
for its wind surfing. Vejer has
a population
of approx. 11,000. There are several hotels,
many good restaurants, 2 language schools
and the Old Town is a world
heritage site
of Arab origin.
